When shoujo manga creator Gou Okazaki bursts into the apartment of his assistant and fellow manga artist Yusuke Akune, he never expects to discover Akune in bed with another man. Since Gou had always assumed his assistant was straight, he presses Akune on why he kept his sexuality hidden. Akune simply replies that there was no need to mention it. Even though they continue collaborating as usual, Gou can't stop being intrigued by this fresh insight. For the tenth anniversary of Gou's debut, his editor proposes that he challenge himself by drawing a boys' love series. With Akune's assistance, Gou crafts the main characters, but the editor instantly rejects the plot because the romantic connection between the leads is underdeveloped. Having never been in love himself, Gou fakes a one-sided infatuation with Akune in order to gather material for the story. However, as Gou maintains this charade, his actual feelings for Akune grow more and more tangled.
