Tadaomi Shirotani works as the secretary for the president of Tosawa Corporation and suffers from severe mysophobia. His obsessive-compulsive disorder affects every part of his life, forcing him to wear gloves whenever he leaves the house and scrubbing his hands until they bleed. When the company president is involved in an accident, a mysterious young man saves him and quickly disappears. Ordered to track him down, Shirotani encounters Riku Kurose, a man who immediately recognizes his condition. Reluctantly following Kurose's advice to consult a professional, Shirotani goes to Shimada Psychosomatics hoping to see a psychiatrist. When he meets Kurose there again, Kurose reveals he is a counselor at the clinic and offers to treat Shirotani's disorder. Kurose instructs Shirotani to create a list of ten things he finds difficult to do—marking the start of exposure therapy. However, Shirotani questions why Kurose would be so kind to someone he barely knows. Kurose does not deny having a hidden motive. With the tenth item left blank because Shirotani cannot decide, Kurose sets a challenge: only after Shirotani discovers what he would hate most—the final item—will his counselor finally reveal the truth.
