Giovanni resides on the outskirts of a small rural town, where his mother is confined to bed due to illness, and his father has been absent since departing for work on a fishing boat. As an outsider at school, Giovanni finds comfort in his friendship with Campanella, whose father serves as the mayor. During the town’s Festival of Stars, Giovanni drifts into a daydream on a hill and notices a steam locomotive floating through the sky. He boards the train, discovering that Campanella is already on board. Together, they journey through the cosmos, encountering unusual travelers and exploring beautiful yet mysterious landscapes.

In Manhattan, mysterious Babylonian tablets point to a tower made entirely of solid gold, a different version from the one described in the Bible. The Mob is trying to seize that wealth, but they are not the only ones—Lupin III is also after the treasure. In "Inaba the Dreammaker," Lum, Ataru, and Shinobu come across a rabbit-costumed youth, step into the Room of Destiny, and get a look at their futures. During a sweltering summer in Tokyo, Ran tries to run a sherbet stand with a bird that produces ice cream cones, but her scheme goes wrong in "Raging Sherbet." In "I Howl at the Moon," Ataru suffers through yet another of Lum's dreadful cooking experiments.

After discovering his mother and sister murdered in their home, a young boy named Jiro is falsely accused of the crime and forced to flee his village. There, he encounters a priest named Tenkai who orders him to kill a rogue ninja named Tarouza. Upon completing this task, Jiro undergoes rigorous training to become a master assassin. Years later, he learns he was an orphan and that his true father was Tarouza, a former subordinate of Tenkai who abandoned his mission after falling in love with an Ainu woman. Jiro soon uncovers a plot by the Shogunate to retrieve the lost treasure of Captain Kidd and use it to isolate Japan from the rest of the world once again. Armed with clues Tarouza kept secret, Jiro, accompanied by the female ninja Oyuki and a slave named Sam, travels to Russia and America to hunt for the treasure, hoping to use it to exact revenge on Tenkai.

The inaugural Captain Tsubasa movie features a showdown between an "All Europe Boy Soccer Team" and an "All Japan Boy Soccer Team," set after the original TV series concludes. When the Japanese squad arrives in Europe, they encounter exceptional players possessing abilities and intensity they have never dealt with before. Shortly after the match starts, the Tachibana brothers score a goal using their "acrobatic soccer," but the European side boasts superb organization and their legendary captain Karl-Heinz Schneider from Germany appears impossible to beat. With Wakashimazu completely overwhelmed by Schneider, the injured goalkeeper genius Wakabayashi steps in and manages to halt Schneider's "fire shots." Following this, Japan ultimately triumphs 3-2.

Elementary school student Kozuki Mai dreams of becoming a magician and taking part in her family's magic show called "Magicarat." Though she is eager, she is considered too young and lacks sufficient skill. One day, a mysterious sphere of light inhabits a plush flying squirrel, bringing it to life and giving Mai the ability to transform into the 18-year-old magician "Magical Emi." In this new form, Mai can finally join the performance. However, she must conceal her double life from her family and the person she secretly has a crush on.

Mike, a wounded penguin soldier, returns to his hometown after a battle but feels alienated from his loved ones. Consequently, he leaves his home and sets out on an aimless journey across the land.

By the year 2099, humanity has spread across the Solar System, colonizing multiple worlds through advances in space travel. Seeking to push beyond these achievements, the starship Starlight is launched on a new mission. When the crew rescues a mysterious girl from debris drifting near the asteroid fields, they set course on a dangerous voyage toward the Canopus system, searching for the planet called only "Odin"—believed to hold the key to all life.

Justy Kaizard serves as a hunter for the Cosmo Police, employing his formidable psychic powers to capture over two hundred criminal espers, among them the infamous Magnamam Vega. In the downtime between his perilous assignments, Justy spends time with his two sisters—one of whom is his secretly adopted sibling, Astaris Vega, the daughter of the criminal esper he once defeated. With his successes fueling growing hostility among galactic outlaws, they conspire to remove him from the picture so they can maintain their rule of disorder.

In Magical Princess Minky Momo: La Ronde in my Dream, Momo visits an island and uncovers a hidden realm populated by children. She then becomes the center of an absurd, worldwide conflict involving multiple countries. The narrative parallels Dr. Strangelove.

In the Area 88 movie, Kazama Shin is forced to serve as a fighter pilot for the distant nation of Arslan. His only way to escape the harsh realities of combat is to earn money by shooting down enemy aircraft—or die trying. Amid the ongoing conflict, Shin struggles with the moral weight of killing and the grief of comrades lost, all while desperately holding onto his dream of getting out of this living hell.

This was screened as an extra feature during the theatrical releases of Mahou no Tenshi Creamy Mami: Long Goodbye and Mahou no Princess Minky Momo: Yume no Naka no Rondo.

Shingo is occupied with shooting a movie called "A Story of Two Worlds," which features Megumi as the main actress. At the same time, Yuu is forced to become Creamy Mami against her will. Yuu also receives a role in the film. Regrettably, the magical change does not persist for an extended period.

After watching a film about the legendary mecha city called Mechapolis, Arale and her friends from Penguin Village find themselves wishing it were real. While people around the world watch the Choujin Rugby match on TV, the "Underground Space Emperor" Hydra King commands his Underground Space Supermen to seize Robin Mask. His scheme involves using Robin Mask as bait to lure the Seigi Choujins, then capitalizing on their weaknesses using the Robin Memo, which contains information on every Seigi Choujin's vulnerabilities. After seeing this broadcast, Kinnikuman and the other Seigi Choujins assemble and depart for Planet Hydra.

This story follows Ivy, a cyborg with advanced technology for detecting evil, who is tasked with protecting the universe from threats. After she is infected by a virus launched by an enemy, her only chance for survival is Diatron 5—a microscopic mecha that enters her body to fight the infection. Helping in this mission are two young individuals, a space fortress named "Star Wars," and Diatron's creator. The villains include Mary, an androgynous female, her blue-skinned sibling (who strongly resembles Spock), and their army of robot fighters and green demon-like aliens.

Highlight special.

The popular manga "The Three-Eyed Boy Comes Here" was adapted as the eighth entry in an animated series intended for a special 24-hour broadcast. On this occasion, Toei Animation Co., Ltd. handled production instead of Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd., with Tezuka Osamu contributing only the original story and an animation synopsis. Based on the original manga, "Easter Island: Sea Voyage," Sharaku and Wato examine a mysterious old vessel and become drawn into a seafaring journey around bizarre islands. The production placed greater emphasis on entertainment value rather than thematic depth, and this shift in conceptual direction led to Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd. withdrawing from the series.

The story takes place in the future during the Mechatronics Era. In this time, schools hover in the Tokyo sky at altitudes of roughly 2000 to 3000 meters. At home, people enjoy freedom of movement because everyone possesses a built-in flight mechanism that enables them to fly. As a result, transportation has become very convenient.
