Synopsis

The popular manga "The Three-Eyed Boy Comes Here" was adapted as the eighth entry in an animated series intended for a special 24-hour broadcast. On this occasion, Toei Animation Co., Ltd. handled production instead of Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd., with Tezuka Osamu contributing only the original story and an animation synopsis. Based on the original manga, "Easter Island: Sea Voyage," Sharaku and Wato examine a mysterious old vessel and become drawn into a seafaring journey around bizarre islands. The production placed greater emphasis on entertainment value rather than thematic depth, and this shift in conceptual direction led to Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd. withdrawing from the series.
