Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! follows Yuuta Togashi as he enters his first year at a new high school, determined to bury the embarrassment of his chuunibyou phase, when he called himself the "Dark Flame Master." Hoping for a clean slate, Yuuta looks forward to a normal high school life. At first, his routine seems to be falling into place without incident. But his hopes for ordinariness are disrupted when he encounters Rikka Takanashi, a classmate still fully immersed in her own chuunibyou delusions. Rikka's presence drags Yuuta back into the very mindset he tried to leave behind. As the story unfolds, Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! explores the growing bond between Yuuta and Rikka as they navigate their peculiar high school experiences, with Yuuta constantly struggling against the lingering shadow of chuunibyou.
