The story of Tsuribaka Nisshi centers on Densuke Hamasaki, an office worker affectionately called Hama-chan, whose intense love for fishing earns him the nickname "Fishing Baka" from his boss, Sasaki. One day, Hama-chan encounters and becomes friends with a skilled fisherman named Su-san, who is later revealed to be Ichinosuke Suzuki—the president of Suzuki Construction, the company where Hama-chan is employed.
