Hoon Lee is a seventeen-year-old hikikomori who goes to high school and lives in a rental apartment he can no longer afford. On top of being bullied at school, his mother died from illness, leaving him under the care of a cruel father. Eventually, his father abandons him along with an overwhelming pile of household debt. With no one to turn to, Hoon decides the fastest way out of his suffering is suicide. He carefully prepares to end his life at death's hands. But the moment he feels pain, he hesitates and backs away from his decision. Soon, he meets a range of people whose intentions toward him may or may not be good. Despite his repeated attempts to harm himself in conventional ways, Hoon keeps surviving to face another difficult, uneventful day.
