In "Beast Master," 17-year-old high school student Yuiko Kubozuka loves animals but often finds they shy away from her due to her overly enthusiastic affection for them. One stormy evening, she accidentally frightens her cat up a tree, only to have a mysterious boy with piercing eyes and a feral appearance rescue the animal before disappearing without a word. The next day, she learns this enigmatic figure is the new transfer student, Leo Aoi, whose imposing presence intimidates most of his classmates. Unfazed by his daunting exterior, Yuiko gathers the courage to thank him. She soon discovers that beneath Leo's tough demeanor lies a gentle heart and a unique connection with animals, which sparks both admiration and envy in Yuiko. However, Leo harbors a dark secret: exposure to blood triggers his primal instincts, causing him to lose control and act on his animalistic urges. Yuiko faces the challenge of whether she can help Leo suppress his inner beast or if he will ultimately elude her, much like the creatures she holds dear.
