Kuchi ga Saketemo Kimi ni wa
In "Even If You Slit My Mouth," Miroku, a woman known for her unsettling ear-to-ear grin, was once feared as an urban legend and called the "Queen of Folklore." But as people's belief in her fades, her very existence becomes threatened. Adding to her troubles, she is bound in a contractual marriage to Kouichi Sano, a 17-year-old from a family tasked with protecting supernatural beings. Unhappy with this arrangement, Miroku seeks to reclaim her former status on her own. Sano proposes a challenge: if she can scare him at least once before he turns eighteen, he will end their engagement. Though Miroku agrees, she grows uneasy with Sano's additional condition that he must also win her heart in the process.

Background
Kuchi ga Saketemo Kimi ni wa is the third and final installment of Akari Kajimoto's series based on Kuchisake-onna, a figure in Japanese folklore. The one-shot is not to be confused with Kajimoto's second installment of the same name, published in 2018. Kuchi ga Saketemo Kimi ni wa was serialized in the free online magazine Shounen Jump+, unlike the first two installments. The series was published digitally in English as Even If You Slit My Mouth through MANGA Plus. It has also been released in Polish by Waneko since January 18, 2024.
