Takane to Hana
In "Takane & Hana," 16-year-old Hana Nonomura is sent to stand in for her older sister Yukari at a miai—a traditional arranged marriage meeting. Her intended partner is Takane Saibara, a charming man ten years her senior and the heir to the wealthy Takaba corporation. Takane initially shows disdain for Hana, who responds by making clear she has no interest in his money or his attitude. Convinced her behavior at the miai would ruin any marriage plans, Hana is surprised when Takane not only wants to continue the engagement discussions but also begins to take an interest in her. This sets the stage for an unusual relationship between two people who could not be more different.
