On the day high school entrance exam results are announced, Makito Maki encounters the enchanting Kizuna Aikawa amidst falling cherry blossoms. It seems destined that they will be classmates, but Maki's dream of having a cute girlfriend is shattered when Kizuna reveals on the first day of school that they are actually male. Despite this revelation, Maki attempts to avoid Kizuna, only to find that their paths continually cross. While Aikawa is amenable to friendship, Maki finds it difficult to reconcile Aikawa's true identity. However, as Aikawa drags Maki along on numerous adventures, Maki begins to appreciate Aikawa's true character and realizes that one shouldn't judge someone based on their looks or gender.
