In "Our Youth," Seo Jinhyuk lives with a constant sense of boredom. His father is a struggling film director, his mother is frequently away, and he spends most of his time alone in a large, empty apartment, dutifully going to school and studying. Craving freedom and feeling disillusioned with the shallow social scene of high school, he passively observes the bullying that takes place around him. Among the bullies, Lim Heechan stands out due to his striking appearance and distant attitude. One day, while walking through a run-down area, Jinhyuk sees Heechan being beaten by his father. Even though he longs for any kind of excitement—whether good or bad—to break the tedium, Jinhyuk decides not to get involved, afraid of attracting notice. However, Heechan notices that Jinhyuk saw him, and after a few brief encounters, Jinhyuk starts to see a softer, more vulnerable side to Heechan. As they share quiet moments together, their initial coldness toward each other slowly transforms into an unexpected connection.

Background

Our Youth was published digitally in English by Lezhin Entertainment from March 21, 2022, to June 13, 2023. The manhwa was adapted into a Japanese live-action series titled Miseinen: Mijukuna Oretachi wa Bukiyo ni Shinkochu that began airing in Japan on November 4, 2024.
