Poe no Ichizoku

In "The Poe Clan," immortal beings sustain themselves by draining the life force of humans, dwelling for centuries in a village that exists outside of time and space, surrounded by roses. The young siblings Edgar and Marybelle are inducted into this clan before their time, fated to stay forever on the brink of adulthood, with their immortality able to be ended only by a wooden stake or a silver bullet. Through the journeys of these three undying characters and their interactions with mortals, Moto Hagio's pioneering manga delves into the nature of being, death, affection, and sorrow.

Background

Poe no Ichizoku was published in English as The Poe Clan by Fantagraphics as omnibus volumes from August 20, 2019 to September 20, 2022. The series was published in Polish as Klan Poe by Japonica Polonica Fantastica in a two-volume edition from September 2012 to December 2012.
