Upon completing middle school, Rentarou Aijou musters the courage to confess to his secret admirer, only to face his one hundredth consecutive rejection. Dismayed but determined, he visits a matchmaking shrine and fervently prays for a girlfriend in high school. Miraculously, the deity of the shrine appears and guarantees that Rentarou will encounter one hundred soulmates throughout his high school years. Initially doubtful, Rentarou's skepticism fades when Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda, two of his supposed soulmates, both declare their love for him on their first meeting. Unbeknownst to Rentarou, the deity overlooked a critical detail: should any of these soulmates fail to form a relationship with him, they will perish. Confronted with this life-threatening predicament, Rentarou resolves to date all of his soulmates. Despite the overwhelming challenge, Rentarou embraces his unique situation, nurturing relationships with each of his one hundred girlfriends, as the Aijou household expands and his high school experience becomes increasingly extraordinary.
