In the Finder series, freelance photographer Akihito Takaba is known for his fearless photojournalism and dedication to uncovering corruption. On the surface, Ryuuichi Asami appears to be a successful entrepreneur running a chain of upscale nightclubs and entertainment venues, but this is just a front. In truth, Asami is a powerful figure in Japan's criminal underworld, involved in drug trafficking and political scandals. Akihito's camera accidentally captures evidence of Asami's illegal activities, pulling him into a dangerous situation. Asami, unwilling to let Akihito damage his reputation, plans to deliver a harsh punishment. However, he underestimates the determination of the 23-year-old, sparking a relentless pursuit where both become caught up in a complex game of hunter and prey. The situation intensifies when Akihito's investigations attract the attention of Liu Feilong, the leader of the Baishe Chinese drug cartel and a former associate of Asami. Feilong sees a chance to use Akihito as leverage against his enemy, risking everything to ignite a conflict with Asami.

Background

Finder Series was initially licensed in English by Central Park Media under its Be Beautiful imprint until the company's bankruptcy in 2009. Only 3 volumes were released. Digital Manga Publishing, under its Juné imprint, acquired the license and released the first volume on September 8, 2010. In 2015, the publisher launched a successful Kickstarter to restock the first six volumes of the series. The license was lost in June 2016 when the publishing agreement between DMP and Libre Publishing had ended. The following month, VIZ Media picked up the license under the SuBLime imprint and published the 8th volume on March 14, 2017. They have been republishing the series as Finder Deluxe Edition since June 13, 2017.
