Author Chiharu Izunome, suffering from a creative block, returns to his quiet hometown. There, he meets Rin, a strange young man who is searching for someone from his past—his destined partner. What Chiharu doesn't know is that Rin is actually a water god in the form of a dragon. A local legend reveals that Chiharu's grandmother once made a pact with Rin, promising her grandson as his spouse in exchange for having a wish fulfilled. Chiharu has no wish to be betrothed to a divine creature, especially a man. Despite his objections, Rin moves into Chiharu's home and dedicates himself to becoming the ideal husband. Desperate to get rid of Rin, Chiharu even calls for an exorcist. But as they begin to live together, a bond forms between them that goes beyond the initial arranged marriage.
