Summary
Lirin is the daughter of the Ox-King Gyumaoh, born to his mistress Gyokumen Koushou in the manga and anime Saiyuki, making her the half-sister of Kougaiji. Despite Lirin serving as a constant reminder of his father’s infidelity to his wife and Kougaiji’s mother, Ratsetsunyo, her older half-brother loves her deeply. Her personality mirrors that of Son Goku from the Sanzo Ikkou; she is happy-go-lucky and always smiling. Although she is young, she is a powerful fighter, though she is also noted for having very large breasts. In the manga version of Saiyuki Reload, Lirin was nearly experimented on by Ni Jian Yi, but Kougaiji managed to free her. The half-siblings, accompanied by the ever faithful Dokugakuji and Yaone, then set out on their own journey to wrestle the sutra from the Sanzo Ikkou.
