Retsu Kaiou is a master of Chinese Kung-Fu, known as Kenpo in Japanese, who underwent rigorous training in China and ultimately became the designated heir to his martial arts style at his temple. Although he possesses extensive knowledge of his discipline, he initially remains closed-minded regarding the potential benefits of studying other martial arts. However, after forming a friendship with Katsumi Orochi following a tournament, his perspective shifts, leading him to express a desire to both teach and learn at the Shinshinkai Dojo.
