Summary
Known across the land as The Red Priest, Rezo was a legendary figure born blind, a condition that drove his relentless pursuit of a cure. He is widely believed to be the grandfather and great-grandfather of Zelgadis, a lineage tied to his controversial decision to turn Zel into a chimera, a transformation Rezo described as mercifully granting his descendant power beyond comprehension. In his quest to restore his sight, Rezo mastered various forms of magic, yet none proved effective. He ultimately concluded that the only solution was to resurrect the dark lord Ruby Eye Shabranigdo using the legendary Philosopher's Stone. Unbeknownst to the group accompanying him, Rezo’s true plan was to destroy the dark lord after summoning him to prevent the world's destruction. However, his scheme collapsed when they discovered that Shabranigdo was sealed within Rezo’s own eyes, explaining their sealed state. The dark lord’s spirit then overtook Rezo’s body, resulting in the death of the great priest.
