Summary

Baki Hanma serves as the protagonist and is the son of Yuujirou Hanma. He began martial arts training at the age of three, working with numerous coaches throughout his life. At thirteen, he left his instructors to pursue more intense training modeled after his father, aiming to surpass him. After meeting Yuujirou and becoming disillusioned by his father's true nature, Baki set out to defeat and kill him. His combat style, known as Total Fighting, incorporates techniques from various martial arts. In a major tournament, he defeated Arudi Regan in round 1, Zool in round 2, Igari Kanji in round 3, and Retsu Kaioh in round 4 before facing his brother in the finals. During that match, he developed an ogre/demon face on his back but managed to suppress it. Unlike Yuujirou, Baki controls his killing intent and fights fairly and honorably regardless of the outcome. His unconventional training methods, such as shadowboxing and visualizing opponents, earn admiration from underground arena fighters. These visualizations can sometimes take a corporeal form. Since Baki can easily remember and replicate any technique he sees, he gains a significant advantage by analyzing weaknesses before engaging in actual combat. Throughout the Search of Our Strongest Hero series, he encounters all the escaped convicts. He has recently defeated Biscuit Oliva and faces a new challenge against the prehistoric man Pickle. After Retsu and Katsumi are defeated, Baki waits for his match with Pickle, having previously engaged in a shadow boxing visualization fight with a T-Rex. He was recently defeated by Pickle in the Korakuen area.
