Summary

Katsumi Orochi is the son of Doppo and the reigning prodigy of Shinshinkai karate. In the first round of the tournament, he effortlessly defeats Roland Gustof before engaging in a more competitive second-round match against Hanayama Kaoru, utilizing his sonic fists technique. However, his tournament run ends in the third round with a humiliating loss to Retsu Kaiou, who knocks him out with a single punch. Retsu expresses admiration for Katsumi’s ability to withstand even one of his powerful blows. Later, during the events of the 'Search of Our Strongest Hero' series, a scheduled rematch is interrupted when the convict Dorian infiltrates the Shinshinkai building and attacks Katsumi. He also takes on the responsibility of training the convict Doyle in Shinshinkai Karate. The anime reveals that Doppo is actually Katsumi's adoptive father, with the series concluding as Katsumi washes up at Doppo's home. He subsequently faces Pickle in a fight, which he loses despite employing his new Mach Punch technique. The battle results in severe injuries, including the tearing off of his right arm and multiple broken limbs. He is later shown in a hospital bed, recovering from these grave wounds.
