Summary

Sarutobi Ayame is a ninja trained by the Oniwabanshuu who currently works as an assassin and holds a part-time position at the Kunoichi Café. She is characterized by a severe myopia that renders her nearly blind without her glasses, to the extent that she struggles to distinguish living beings from inanimate objects. This visual impairment is so profound that she once mistook Kagura, who was disguised as Sakata Gintoki, for Gintoki himself, a confusion that may have been exacerbated by her intense obsession. Ayame has developed a serious and obsessive infatuation with Gintoki, which manifests in her stalking behavior. Despite Gintoki’s indifference and harsh treatment, such as throwing objects at her when he detects her presence, her masochistic nature leads her to enjoy the punishment, viewing his cruelty as encouragement. While she maintains a playful demeanor in her personal life, she becomes serious when performing her duties. Her interactions with Otae are frequently marked by conflict.
