Summary

Doppo Orochi serves as a karate master and the head of the Shinshinkai-kan. He is one of the few individuals in the world capable of standing toe-to-toe with Yuujirou. As a deeply devoted practitioner, he maintains rigorous discipline by practicing every karate technique at least one thousand times daily and conditioning his students through regular combat. He acts as a mentor to Baki, while also serving as the instructor for Katou and the father of Katsumi. His legendary battle against Yuujirou ended with Yuujirou gouging out his eye and killing him, though he was subsequently revived by Kureha. Later, in the 'Search of our Strongest Hero' manga series, he encounters the escaped American convict Dorian. During their fight, Dorian uses a strange wire-cutting technique involving a wire blade projected from a lighter to sever Doppo's hand. Doppo eventually avenges this injury when he, Katsumi, and Retsu track down Dorian. However, after Dorian escapes from the hospital, he uses an explosive implanted in his hand to blow off part of Doppo's face. This attack does not prove fatal but leaves his face heavily scarred.
