Summary

Kazuo Nakano is an Earthling from Takeo, Saga, Japan. He serves as the vice editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump and the editor-in-chief of Fresh Jump. Due to his position, he was frequently caricatured by mangaka, particularly by Yudetamago in Kinnikuman, where he evolved into a regular supporting character. He is typically addressed as Nakano-san and often refers to himself as Aderans Nakano-san, referencing the wig manufacturer; consequently, his wig is often loose and falls off during episodes of Kinnikuman. His primary role in Kinnikuman and Kinnikuman Nisei is that of a color commentator. In Ultimate Muscle, he is known as Doc Nakano, despite having no medical credentials. Physically, he is a short, middle-aged man who appears throughout both series. He is an eccentric figure who frequently skips work to watch wrestling matches and occasionally attempts to join the fights, only to be knocked away in the next panel. For major bouts, he has even sold his wife to afford a ticket. Generally viewed as an idiot and a nuisance, he is often the first to laugh at Kinnikuman’s stupidity. In earlier chapters, he shared Kinnikuman’s love for gyudon, specifically preferring it served as saranami with meat and rice separate.
