Summary

Wataru Takagi is a colleague of Megure who harbors feelings for Sato, leading to a somewhat awkward mutual attraction. Although he projects an air of ineffectual nervousness, Takagi proves to be far from useless. He possesses the ability to quickly evaluate situations and execute immediate, decisive action when the moment demands it, which serves as a significant advantage. His full name and kanji are derived directly from his voice actor, also named Wataru Takagi. Originally created for the anime and later incorporated into the manga, the character was initially an unnamed police detective. During a recording session, Chafurin, who voices Inspector Megure, improvised the line "You, what's your name?" prompting Takagi to adlib the response "It's Takagi, sir!" This impromptu exchange stuck, and he has been referred to by that name ever since.
