Minamoto, Kouichi
Summary
As the central protagonist, Kouichi Minamoto possesses no esper abilities, yet he compensates with exceptional intellectual prowess. At the start of the series, he is twenty years old and serves as the field leader for the Special Esper Team known as "The Children." His role extends beyond directing them during missions to overseeing their daily well-being. Although the team members frequently disobey and mistreat him, they hold Minamoto in high regard, eagerly requesting to live with him once he is assigned to their unit. Under his guidance, the girls have demonstrated significant positive growth. Generally good-natured and tolerant, Minamoto can be pushed to his breaking point, at which he comically adopts a rage-filled demeanor reminiscent of Fist of the North Star, complete with characteristic quotes that inspire fear even among his superiors and the Children themselves.
