Summary
Alcyone is an ice sorceress who studied under Clef and was trained to serve the Pillar. Her devotion shifts to the high priest Zagato, who becomes her master in a one-sided romantic arrangement. In the manga, she meets her end after failing Zagato twice. The anime extends her lifespan into the final stages of the second series, where she is captured by the sorceress Debonair and brainwashed into slavery. Although Lantis defeats her in combat, Alcyone has lost her memories. Upon recovering them, she exposes Debonair’s plans for Cephiro and reveals her location, but Debonair kills her before she can complete her disclosure. In the Sega Saturn game, she appears to die but returns near the conclusion of the story within Zagato’s palace. Her name was occasionally misromanized as Alcione in the early English manga release and derives from the Subaru Alcyone SVX. In the Spanish dub, she is known as Alanis.
