Synopsis
The Earth lies in darkness and desolation. Despite the valiant efforts of the film's heroine, Hikaru, the malevolent castle of Cephiro has consumed the world, now standing at the heart of a lifeless Tokyo. Just as the ice-witch Alcyone prepares to exact her revenge on Hikaru, she is saved by Lantis, a young man who traps her within a magical maze. There, Hikaru must prove her strength while her friends are pursued by Cephiro's warlocks. Escaping through the silent city, Umi and Fuu must locate the slumbering Mashin, godlike beings destined to fuse with them and create giant warriors of terrifying destructive power. Yet the Magic Knights are terrified, untrained, and isolated... can even the Mashin be enough to rescue them from the evil deeds of Cephiro? Note: In 1998, Toshihiro Hirano released a Director's cut titled "Special Edition - The Wings of Hope," which compiled the three episodes into a two-hour film featuring new scenes and altered dialogue.
