Summary
Eagle Vision serves as a respected commander from Autozam, a neighboring nation to Cephiro that relies on the mental energy of its citizens. He is an enigmatic and forceful tactician, leading the invasion of Cephiro despite his gentle and chivalrous nature. As the President’s son, Eagle was close friends with Lantis during the latter’s past visit to Autozam. His motivations for invading Cephiro stem from a desire to replicate the Pillar System and become the Pillar himself. He suffers from a severe illness that should have killed him before reaching Cephiro. He reveals to Hikaru that he seeks to become the Pillar to spare Lantis’ life and enter an eternal sleep with Cephiro. The second season implies he was in love with Lantis, particularly when Hikaru apologizes for hurting the one Lantis loved most. Hikaru eventually convinces him it is unfair to abandon his loved ones, saving him and helping him recover. In the anime, Eagle sacrifices himself to save the Magic Knights, whereas in the manga, Autozam becomes an ally to Cephiro. In the OVA, he is Emeraude’s brother, attempting to destroy the Earth to fulfill her perceived wishes. He later appears in Tsubasa with Lantis and Geo. His name references the Eagle Vision, his FTO references the Mitsubishi FTO, and his home nation is named after the Mazda Autozam line.
