Summary
Sapphire is the young Prince of Silverland, though she is biologically female and must maintain a male disguise to secure her inheritance of the throne and stop the malevolent Duke Duralumon from seizing control. Her demeanor is refined rather than tomboyish, yet she possesses considerable skill with a sword. Under the cover of darkness, she operates as the masked Phantom Knight, combating crime with a strong sense of justice, a kind heart, and a competent, level-headed approach. While she spends the majority of the series posing as Prince Sapphire, she eventually gains the ability to appear publicly as a girl by wearing a blonde wig, assuming the identity of the Princess, who is Prince Sapphire's sister. This dual existence allows her to pursue a romantic relationship with Prince Frank.
