Summary
Skull serves as the ruthless head of the Black Ghost Organization, a shadowy group dedicated to igniting global conflict by trafficking arms between major world powers. His true identity remains a mystery, concealed beneath a helmet shaped like a skull, a black suit resembling a ribcage, and a flowing red cape. Despite the ambiguity surrounding his past, his given name is widely cited as Skull. During the cyborgs' assault on the Black Ghost Base—initially mistaken for their headquarters until later in the manga and anime—Skull nearly perished when explosives were detonated. He engaged in a one-on-one duel with 009, revealing himself to be a highly advanced cyborg. Utilizing a superior acceleration mode, he soundly defeated 009. The nine cyborgs were only saved by a desperate final maneuver, where 009 held onto Skull as they fell into a vat of liquid nitrate, while 001 teleported 009 to safety. It remains unclear how Skull survived the explosion. Furthermore, it is disclosed that the organization’s true masters are three disembodied brains. Although these brains are ultimately destroyed, they assert that they are merely the leaders of the Earth branch of a universal Black Ghost Organization.
