Summary

As one of the final two survivors of the Athena Saints generation, alongside his close friend Aries Shion, Douko’s post-war duty involved guarding the tower where Hades' Specters were imprisoned until the next Holy War began. He resides alone at the Five Peaks in China, taking care of Shun-Rei, an orphan girl under his guardianship. Douko serves as the master to both Dragon Shiryuu and Ouko, a character exclusive to the anime adaptation. He acts as a paternal figure to Shiryuu, whose wise guidance is frequently recalled by the young Saint when he encounters difficulties in combat. Additionally, he functions as an adviser to the main cast and maintains a strong friendship with Aries Mu, the disciple of Shion. In his youth, Douko was notably more vivid and impulsive, but even after regaining his youthful appearance during the Hades arc, he remains circumspect and mindful, a demeanor shaped by nearly three centuries of experience as a Saint.
