Prussia

Summary

Prussia, known as the Kingdom of Prussia with Köningsberg as its capital, was a German-speaking nation dissolved by the Allies in 1947. His human form is Gilbert Beilschmidt, a twenty-year-old who appears twenty years old and stands 177 cm tall. Born on January 18, his national flower is the cornflower. He is a warrior at heart who shunned marriage, featuring platinum blonde hair and deep violet-red eyes, though early art depicted him with dark blonde hair and blue eyes. He formerly bullied Hungary, mistaking her for a male due to her burly demeanor, until discovering she was female. Their competitive childhood and mutual grudges make their relationship awkward, yet Hungary admitted she would be lonely if he were gone. Prussia reacts with dismay whenever he sees Hungary spending time with Austria. His younger brother and drinking buddy is Germany, whom he affectionately calls "West." After his dissolution, Prussia moved into Germany's home, where he acts as an affectionate but irresponsible older brother. While Germany often cleans up Prussia's weird decorations, they generally get along well despite occasional clashes. Prussia also holds a deep affection for Italy, calling him "Italy-chan" and frequently posting photos of their dinners on his blog. Conversely, he harbors a hatred for Russia, stemming from past terror that has since faded because he is proud that Germany is now a strong, stable nation that Russia cannot easily breach. He shares a unique bond with his historical leader, Frederich II, whom he calls "Old Man Fritz." Although Fritz has been dead for a long time, Prussia hopes he is watching proudly from heaven. Personality-wise, Prussia is extremely loyal and driven to become stronger, yet he is arrogant, believing himself to be more "awesome" than anyone else. Germany notes his lack of common sense, but Prussia possesses the diligence of a tough soldier masked by bad manners. He is left-handed and likely has type A blood. He owns a small yellow bird, often called "Gilbird" by fans, which he discovered only after a blog fan emailed him about it. He refers to himself as "Ore-sama," a masculine and informal self-reference. While "Gilbo" is a popular fan-made nickname and "Weillschmidt" was an earlier surname rendering, "Beilschmidt" is the more proper translation.
