Summary

Meme is a middle-aged man residing in an abandoned building who specializes in handling apparitions, often stepping in to resolve the supernatural troubles of Koyomi and others. While he sometimes demands payment for his services, he is not always compensated and frequently assists those in need out of genuine goodwill. His extensive knowledge of the supernatural and various oddities establishes him as a primary source of information for Araragi during his time in the city. Although Meme graduated with a degree in Shinto studies, he never pursued a career as a Shinto priest. Nevertheless, he possesses the capability to perform the spiritual duties of a priest, including exorcising entities and solving paranormal mysteries. He occasionally dons a priest’s outfit, a sight notable during the session involving Senjougahara and the heavy crab. Among his distinctive accessories are an earring in his right ear and a necklace, both featuring inverted crosses.
