Synopsis
Continues the story of Kizumonogatari Part 3: Cold-Blooded
After aiding in the resurrection of the powerful vampire Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade, Koyomi Araragi has become a vampire himself and now serves under her. Although Kiss-shot promises to restore his humanity once she regains her full power, Araragi struggles with the consequences of his actions. He has identified the trio of vampire hunters who previously defeated Kiss-shot and severed her limbs, yet as he nears his goal, doubts emerge regarding the prudence of reawakening such a potent and uncontrollable being. Araragi also investigates the mystery behind their past conflict: why were Kiss-shot and the hunters enemies, considering he recently succeeded against the same foes? He must evaluate whether Kiss-shot's pledge to return him to human form is feasible and decide if he can trust her word. Driven to the limit, Araragi faces a fateful decision that may require an action filled with remorse to finally resolve the situation.
In this installment
After a run-in with a vampire, Koyomi Araragi detects odd behavior in his friend and savior, Tsubasa Hanekawa. While walking toward a bookstore, he spots her and notices a bandaged patch on her face, indicating something is amiss. Although Hanekawa claims the injury is trivial and not a concern, Araragi stays worried. The situation escalates when they stumble upon a tailless white cat struck by a car; after burying the animal, their real troubles commence. Later, when Araragi recounts these events to his friend Meme Oshino, he learns the buried cat was actually an apparition specifically linked to Hanekawa's current state. Resolved to ensure her safety, Araragi sets out to locate her and finds that she has assaulted her parents, possessed by the entity known as "Sawari Neko." It now falls to Araragi to aid Hanekawa, returning the support she once offered him.
