Synopsis

This is the second installment in the six-part first season of the Monogatari Series, covering the Koyomi Vamp arc from the Kizumonogatari light novel. On March 25th, an otherwise normal day of spring break, Koyomi Araragi—a second-year student at Naoetsu High School—strikes up a friendship with Tsubasa Hanekawa, the school’s top honors student. Hanekawa mentions a rumor about a "blonde vampire" that has recently been seen around town. Though usually antisocial, Araragi finds himself taking a liking to her down-to-earth demeanor. That night, he comes across the very vampire from the rumor: Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade, otherwise known as the "iron-blooded, hot-blooded, cold-blooded King of Apparitions." The breathtakingly beautiful vampire lies in a pool of her own blood, all four limbs severed, and cries out for Koyomi to save her. Kiss-Shot asks Araragi to give her his blood. The instant he does, Araragi awakens to find himself reborn as her vampire kin. As he struggles to come to terms with what he has become, Kiss-Shot whispers, "Welcome to the world of darkness..."

During the spring of his second year in high school, Koyomi Araragi encountered the stunning vampire Kiss-Shot Acerola-Orion Heart-Under-Blade. Finding Kiss-shot near death with all four of her limbs severed, Koyomi chose to rescue her—but the price was becoming her servant and a vampire himself. Lying in wait are three formidable vampire hunters: Dramaturgy, a colossal vampire hunter who is himself a vampire; Episode, a half-vampire wielding an enormous cross; and Guillotinecutter, a soft-spoken man who has made a career of slaying the undead.
