Summary

Takeshi Nakazato leads the Myogi NightKids and first appears at the Akina downhill race, witnessing Keisuke Takahashi of the RedSuns compete against Takumi. Shocked by Takumi’s victory over Keisuke, Nakazato resolves to defeat the so-called Akina downhill specialist and marks the RedSuns as his next target. An intelligent and skilled driver, he is sharp enough to identify the gutter hook technique used by the Eight-Six during its initial battle against Keisuke’s FD. However, his emotional nature often clouds his judgment, leading to poor throttle control and reckless all-out racing that ignores tire wear. This tendency frequently results in defeat or crashes. While he excels at acceleration, his driving philosophy centers on grip racing. He previously drove a Nissan Silvia S13, utilizing drifting techniques, but switched to an R32 after suffering a crushing loss to a silver Skyline on his home course at Myogi. This defeat shifted his mindset, causing him to reject drifting as weak and showy in favor of grip driving. He also maintains the belief that a vehicle cannot exceed its inherent capabilities, regardless of the driver's skill.
