Summary

Elizabeth appears as a massive white bird resembling either a giant duck or a penguin and serves as Katsura’s loyal companion. Originally a gift from Tatsuma Sakamoto, who presumably acquired the creature during his travels through space, Elizabeth is viewed by many as an insane and unnecessary presence. Despite this, Katsura has named the ambiguous avian "Elizabeth" and dotes on it. In episode 18, Shinpachi purchased a doll called Space Alien Stefan that looks nearly identical to Elizabeth. Beyond her role as a pet, Elizabeth displays surprising dexterity and acts as a painter. Communication is primarily conducted through signboards, which she also uses as occasional weapons. She is a skilled fighter capable of repelling swordsmen with these boards. While her true identity remains uncertain, it seems she is actually a man wearing a duck costume. During her first appearance, hairy legs were visible beneath her sheet, and a humanoid body with glowing eyes was revealed when her mouth opened after falling during a battle between Gintoki and Katsura. Although Katsura appeared shocked by her true nature, she continued to stay by his side. Episode 50 suggests that the person inside Elizabeth is likely the director, a revelation interrupted when Gintoki was cut off while saying "Kanto-," implying "Direc-." Most characters ignored this detail, especially since the episode was filler. When the interior of Elizabeth is shown again later, she reverts to having glowing eyes. When Shinpachi boarded Takasugi’s ship to rescue Kagura, a bazooka emerged from Elizabeth’s mouth, blasting the vessel to distract everyone. Because of this feat, Shinpachi began referring to her as Elizabeth-senpai. Her birthday is September 7, her height is 180 centimeters, and she weighs 123 kilograms.
