Summary
Sorata, a heavenly dragon with a cheerful and irreverent demeanor, possesses significant occult powers. He was raised by Shingon Buddhist monks in Kōyasan after being separated from his mother in childhood. A self-proclaimed gourmand, Sorata often got into trouble at the shrine for stealing snacks between meals, claiming he could not wait for dinner, though he is also a skilled cook. Prophecy dictates that he must protect Kamui with his life but die for a woman, leading him to immediately identify Arashi as his destined sacrifice. Despite his rough Kansai dialect and initially cold reception, his persistent friendliness eventually wins over both Kamui and Arashi. Beyond his electrical abilities, Sorata can summon a gohōdōji, a powerful shikigami-like entity that appears as a terrifying ghost. This creature is psychically linked to him, enabling remote spying and action, though Sorata feels any damage it sustains. He appears in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle.
