Chi-Fuyo Reveals Action PV as P.A. WORKS Charges Into October

P.A. WORKS just let the fall isekai show its teeth. The official site for The Laid-Off Cheat-Granting Mage Enjoys a Second Lease on Life — Chi-Fuyo to anyone who has tried saying the full Japanese title out loud — posted an action promo this week that drops Rein Garland's party into a brutal dungeon and squares them up against a glowing, two-headed Phosphor Dragon.

Daiki Yamashita's Rein is the support mage who theoretically should not be on the front line. The clip still puts him in the scrum with Lynn's S-rank adventurer Lily Flambert, Yoshino Aoyama's B-rank Margaret Ells, and Miyu Tomita's assassin Mirabelle, all of them swinging like the dungeon has a personal grudge. It is the first time the adaptation has leaned this hard into spectacle.

Shu Honma (Ya Boy Kongming!) is directing at P.A. WORKS, with Yoko Yonaiyama on series composition and Tadahito Kiyosawa on character design. The same drop also filled out the action bench: Noboru Sugimitsu is monster designer and action animation director, and Arisa Okehazama is scoring the series. Broadcast is locked for October 2026 on TV Tokyo and its affiliates, with Crunchyroll carrying the simulcast.

The joke at the center of Asa Rokushima and Gyomuyomochi's hit is almost too petty to be this dangerous. Rein gets kicked out of his guild because he has already buffed every blade they own, so he yanks his enhancement points back, dumps them into a copper sword, and walks off to enjoy a second life as an adventurer. October will tell us whether the dragon is impressed.
