Arvo Animation Expands Returner's Magic Season 2 Bench With New Art Staff

Arvo Animation is restaffing the canvas for its return to the Shadow Worlds. Director Taishi Kawaguchi and series composer Takamitsu Kouno remain at the helm of A Returner's Magic Should Be Special Season 2, but the studio has brought in a new art director, a four-person art-design team, a new editor, and production house Hayate as it lines up an October 2026 slot on Fuji TV's +Ultra block.

Daisuke Negishi steps in as art director, with Satoshi Fujimoto, Taiga Saitou, Takeshi Mukai, and Tetsuo Imaizumi credited for art design. Gou Sadamatsu joins on editing. Hiromi Katou stays on character design, while Shoutarou Hashiguchi, Aiko Matsuyama, and Hideki Imaizumi continue on props, color, and photography. The first promo leans into Desir Herman's past and the sharper battles waiting for him, Romantica Eru, Pram Schnaizer, and Azrest Kingscrown.

The sequel will air Wednesdays at 24:45 (Thursday 12:45 a.m.). Before that, Shinjuku Wald 9 hosts an advance screening on October 3, with Takuma Terashima, Sayumi Suzushiro, Natsumi Fujiwara, and Asami Seto scheduled for a stage greeting. FLOW is back for the opening theme "Sorrow," krage handles the ending "Everlasting," and Crunchyroll will stream the season internationally.

Usonan wrote the original web novel; Wookjakga drew the KakaoPage manhwa. Arvo Animation's first season ran 12 episodes in fall 2023. The new credits point to a thicker world-building layer for Desir's second chance.
