Fool Night Hits Netflix Worldwide on November 26 as a Full-Series Drop

Netflix has put a date on one of its stranger anime originals of the year. Fool Night, the first series Sunrise and SHAFT have produced together, will stream worldwide as a Netflix exclusive on November 26, with the entire run arriving at once instead of a weekly drip.
Kasumi Yasuda's manga, still serializing in Shogakukan's Big Comic Superior, pictures a century of cloud cover that has starved the planet of sunlight. Most vegetation is gone, and oxygen is rationed through transfloration: seeds planted in the dying so their bodies become plants. Broke, exhausted, and paying for his mother's medicine, Toshiro Kamiya chooses that path, and the surgery leaves him able to hear plant voices.
Koki Uchiyama and Minako Kotobuki lead the Japanese cast as Toshiro and transfloration worker Yomiko Horai. The latest round of casting adds Junya Enoki as Akira Yatsuka, Aya Endo as Saeko Kanaeno, and Kiyomitsu Mizuuchi as Jin Hiragishi. A new English-language teaser, shown during Netflix's Anime NYC panel, features Adam McArthur and Olivia Liang in the lead roles.
Atsushi Yukawa directs, with Jin Tanaka on series composition, Robert Sato on character design, and Tatsuya Kato on the score. The official site and a second teaser PV treat November 26 as a full-drop event rather than a traditional broadcast window. Readers who want a head start can pick up the manga from VIZ Media, which is publishing the series in English.
