Synopsis

Continues the story of The Garden of Sinners Chapter 7: A Study in Murder - Part 2

By February 1999, a wave of murders has Shiki Ryougi and Mikiya Kokutou on edge. The killings bear a disturbing resemblance to the homicides of 1995, when Shiki and Mikiya first met, and stir up a dark, murderous craving that has remained buried within Shiki ever since. Falling under suspicion due to her connection to the earlier deaths and her likeness to the perpetrator, Shiki and Mikiya set out to track down the real culprit. As they pursue their own separate lines of inquiry, Mikiya's worry for Shiki deepens, and he rushes to find the responsible party before Shiki's own impulses can consume her. Armed with a clue from his cousin, police investigator Daisuke Akimi, Mikiya descends into the seedy depths of Mifune City, where the fate of Shiki's soul rests on his resolve to prove her innocence once and for all.

In this installment

On his way home, Mikiya Kokutou notices a scene that recalls their first meeting four years earlier: Shiki Ryougi is standing by a railing in the falling snow. As they talk about their past and the things they have been through together, Mikiya senses something different about Shiki. It becomes clear that the person in front of him is not the Shiki he is familiar with, but someone else living inside her body.
