Synopsis

Continues the story of Fire Force

In a world where Spontaneous Human Combustion has become a grim reality, ordinary citizens can suddenly transform into raging, flaming creatures known as Infernals. These initial victims represent the first cases of Human Combustion, whereas later generations, called pyrokinetics, possess the ability to control their flames without losing their humanity. To combat this threat and uncover its origins, the Tokyo Armed Forces, the Fire Defense Agency, and the Holy Church of Sol established the Special Fire Force. Shinra Kusakabe, a gifted third-generation pyrokinetic nicknamed Devil's Footprints for his power to ignite his feet, enthusiastically joins the lively Special Fire Force Company 8. Committed to the unit's mission of halting rampaging Infernals and laying their souls to rest, Shinra aspires to become a hero who rescues people from fiery peril. However, the truth diverges sharply from the heroic tale Shinra envisioned. The Special Fire Force is rife with internal strife and discord among its brigades, while reports of bizarre Infernal sightings surge throughout Tokyo. Furthermore, a clandestine organization claims to hold knowledge regarding the fatal fire that consumed Shinra's family twelve years ago. Confronting challenges both within and beyond the Fire Force, Shinra battles to reveal the truths concealed behind the burning mysteries that have always eluded him.

In this installment

Following his confrontation with his brother Shou in the Nether, Shinra Kusakabe's resolve to become a hero who protects humanity from the Flame Hazard intensifies. His goals are to find a method to revert Infernals back to humans, expose the truths behind the Evangelist and the Adolla Burst, and rescue both his mother and Shou. Yet, Shinra is acutely aware of the daunting obstacles ahead, particularly the threat posed by the Evangelist. The Evangelist's plan is simple: collect the eight pillars, individuals gifted with the Adolla Burst, and sacrifice them to reenact the Great Cataclysm from 250 years ago. Upon learning from the First Pillar that another pillar is imminent, Shinra vows to defend his fellow pillars from the Evangelist. As a result, the Special Fire Force clashes fiercely with the Evangelist. Fighting alongside his team, Shinra presses on to uncover the truth regarding the Great Cataclysm, the essence of the Adolla Burst, and the enigma of human spontaneous combustion.
