Synopsis
Continues the story of Mazinger Z
Koji Kabuto's grandfather uncovered two breakthroughs with the power to rescue humanity: Photon Light Energy and Chogokin Z, an alloy of unmatched durability. However, before Dr. Kabuto can finish this work, the wicked Dr. Hell sends his trusted lieutenant, the bisected Baron Ashura, to assassinate him. Now orphaned along with younger brother Shiro, Koji swears vengeance and takes up Dr. Kabuto's last and greatest invention: the super robot Mazinger Z! Joined by Dr. Kabuto's successor, Dr. Yumi, his daughter Sayaka, and her research robot Aphrodite A, Koji sets out to protect Japan from Dr. Hell's menacing mecha monsters and to keep the peaceful work of the Photon Light Institute safe. With local bully boy Boss joining them, can Koji and Sayaka prevent this most dangerous villain from running amok and conquering the world?

This anime television series and manga comic book was created by manga artist Go Nagai, functioning as a direct continuation of the highly popular Mazinger Z series. It premiered in Japan in 1974, immediately following the conclusion of the original Mazinger series.
