Summary
Kenzo Kabuto is the son of Juuzo Kabuto and the father of Kouji and Shiro. In the Great Mazinger continuity, he was presumed dead following a laboratory accident that seemingly killed him and his wife, but Juuzo actually saved him by reviving him as a cyborg. During his time in hiding, Kenzo refined his father’s mechanical designs to build the Great Mazinger. He also took in and trained the orphans Tetsuya Tsurugi and Jun Hono, preparing them to become pilots. In the Shin Mazinger timeline, Kenzo participates in the excavation of Bardos Island alongside his father, where they develop the Energer Z, a prototype for Mazinger Z. While excavating Mycenaean technology on the island, his cyborg form is possessed by the bio-mechanical Kedora, causing him to betray the group. He is believed to have perished during the escape from Bardos Island, killed by Tsubasa.
