Synopsis

In the year 199X A.D., three Dragonite entities emerge in Kushiro, Hokkaido. Wielding immense destructive capability, they launch an assault on the city. Their appearance also stirs the malevolent Jashin Drago from the holy seal that had imprisoned him. Two centuries earlier, Drago was sealed away by a holy warrior bearing the tattooed mark of the Liger. Believing that warrior to be dead, Drago and Empress Zara now set out to dominate Earth with their legion of biomechanical beasts. Even the Japan Self-Defense Forces prove powerless against the Dragonites' overwhelming might. Among those fleeing is the protagonist, a timid 16-year-old boy named Ken Taiga. Unbeknownst to the Dragonites, Ken discovers he is the descendant of the Liger warrior. In a surge of fury, Ken's Liger birthmark manifests, and he raises his palm skyward, shouting the transformation command, "LIGER!!!" This engulfs him in demonic, long-haired biomechanical armor. Ken becomes Jushin Liger to battle the evil forces of the Dragonite.
