In the year 199X AD, in Kushiro, Hokkaido, three Dragonite entities appear and unleash devastating attacks on the city. Their arrival also frees the malevolent Jashin Drago from the sacred seal that had confined him for two centuries. Centuries ago, Drago was sealed by a holy warrior bearing the Liger insignia. Believing that warrior has perished, Drago and Empress Zara now aim to dominate Earth using their army of biomechanical creatures. Even the Japan Self-Defense Forces struggle against the formidable strength of the Dragonites. Amidst the chaos, Ken Taiga, a timid 16-year-old, attempts to escape. Unbeknownst to the Dragonites, Ken is the heir of the Liger warrior. Fueled by rage, Ken's Liger mark emerges, and he raises his hand to the sky, shouting the transformation phrase, "LIGER!" This action cloaks him in fierce, long-haired biomechanical armor, transforming him into Jushin Liger, ready to combat the evil forces of the Dragonites.
