Synopsis
Elementary school student Capeta Taira copes with the loss of his mother by becoming more independent to ease his father's worries. His father works tirelessly at a paving company to support them, and though Capeta appears strong, he leads a solitary life. Besides managing household tasks, he faces harassment from Nobu Andou, despite having the support of his classmate, Monami Suzuki. One day, Capeta's father witnesses a go-kart race and gets an idea. He starts collecting discarded parts from the track to build a special gift for Capeta. Curious, Capeta and Monami secretly visit his father’s workplace and discover a go-kart pieced together from scrap materials, bearing Capeta’s name. The kart lacks an engine but is otherwise functional. Despite a downpour, Capeta cannot resist giving the kart a test drive. As he navigates the wet roads, what could have been a perilous situation turns into an exhilarating experience. This moment ignites a newfound enthusiasm in Capeta, propelling him into the exciting world of racing.
