Summary
Taira Kappeita, commonly known as Capeta, was a fourth-grade boy who had lost his mother at a very young age. Although he put up a tough front for his father, he secretly felt lonely. His life changed when his father brought home scrap parts and built a racing kart for him. Upon testing it at a circuit, Capeta discovered the frame was bent, making it difficult to drive straight, yet he managed the kart through sheer skill. He then chased down a faster kart driven by Minamoto Naomi, the East Japan Junior Kart champion, coming close to overtaking him. Witnessing this intense pursuit, Naomi’s mother, Minamoto Nanako, encouraged Capeta to enter official races.
